Plot (summary): Prince Dastan, raised as a street thief and later adopted by the Persian King, leads an attack on the holy city of Alamut, after being told he is helping Persia's enemies. Amid the attack, he acquires a magical dagger (the Dagger of Time) that has the power to reverse time. Betrayed, accused of killing his father, Dastan teams up with Princess Tamina to stop the evil vizier Nizam from using the dagger (and the "Sands of Time") to control time and destroy the world. 

Reception:

Mixed critical reviews. Rotten Tomatoes score (Tomatometer) is modest. 

Box office: grossed around $336 million worldwide on a budget of about $150–200 million.
